Pedal box R&R

Anyone replaced their pedal box lately. Mine is halfway cracked above the clutch master right now. I've got a new one on it's way from Steve Haygood. Has anyone reinforced them before installation, anyone know if "new" ones are reinforced. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've done it on two E28s, both manuals. Apparently stress from clutching.

Nothing particularly difficult other than the working position.

Last new one I installed looked the one removed, IIRC. Don't remember any obvious reinforcements.

Yeah I've replaced it once before on my e28. It really isn't that bad a job, might take you an afternoon. The best part of the job was finding out that the new pedal box from the dealer's cost me less than $70 new; couln't believe it. The worst part about it was having to lie on my back in the driver's foot-well with a flashlight in one hand and wrench in the other. You might do yourself a favor if you took out the driver's seat.
