Fine, from now on, we will all simply ignore you
You post that something can be done. That something has some limitations and some potential risk. You don't mention that. And you casually suggest that it doesn't matter.
Fine.
From now on, whenever you give any advice about Z3s, we will have to disregard your advice because it might be fraught with danger that you have not mentioned.
Is that really how you want to go about things? I doubt it.
You accused Carl of over-reacting. In your defense, he has seemed a bit testy of late. I was partly responsible for one incident, but he seemed to jump on B_topless when it wasn't called for (IMHO). But in this instance, I think YOU were the overly sensitive one.
Pot, meet kettle.

Great, but did Carl's warning hurt?

The thread speaks for itself.
Nobody peed in my oats, but you attacked Carl unnecessarily when he was trying to be helpful and then became even more accusatory.
Carl made a simple cautionary observation. I think it was a helpful observation. In response, you accused him of reacting as though someone peed in his oats. I think your response was overblown. Then, instead of acknowledging that and moving one, which would have ended this thread long ago, you got defensive and tried to justify your accusation.
Sorry, but a patronizing "Now take a smiley pill, and put a happy face on. Jheeze, already" only serves to make that worse, not better. It again implies that he was reacting inappropriately and aggressively and that HE was the one that needed an attitude adjustment.
Like it or not, YOU overreacted here, not Carl. I've got your back on the B_Topless thread over on the main board, but not on this one. Just calling them like I see them.
Go back and read the comment he made. Was it REALLY offensive to you to have him post a caution about back-grading? If it saves someone from spending $1000 on a laptop, relying on your advice only to find out that they couldn't back-grade, then wasn't it worth it? Or do you REALLY want to have half-educated advice attributed to you?

Does the judge give you a pass for the disinterest
-ed 3rd party submitting superfluous legal info to your cases?
Hmm... Didn't think so.
Now SMILE already. Relax and enjoy life a bit. You are all wound so tight.
It's just a dammed computer. And I hate them. And I have to keep fixing them for the people who cannot keep their grubby hands out of the gearworks. But it's still just a computer. They are NOT worth this much heartburn.

Not sure what you mean
But if you are questioning whether courts accept amicus briefs from non-parties, then YES, judges HAVE allowed me to submit such briefs.
Giz, we've both been around here for a long time. I've never thought you to be an unreasonable person. To the contrary, you always seem to be helpful and friendly. But in this instance, YOU are accusing US of being wound up too tight when it was YOUR snipey response to Carl that started this whole discussion.
This is the last I'm going to say on this - you may want to look in the mirror on this one before accusing us of being the ones that are wound up tightly.

The cast of candidates must have been something!
a highly sought after position
Maybe highly sought after, but only by a bunch of nerds. A nerd by any other name, is still a nerd! ;o)
But hey, you grew out of that phase in life. You blossomed. You met Les and she fell for you. And then you risked it all with Rachel and her feminine wiles.
Oops, sorry, that just slipped!
