Just kidding, but their new MCT 7-speed combines the inherent shift speed of a power-on shifting planetary set with the elimination of the torque converter (replaced by what they call a "wet clutch" - probably an oil-immersed computer controlled clutch). 100 millsecond shifts. They could probably make it shift faster, but it'd loosen your fillings. Nice thing is that it functions as a full autobox when necessary without the jerkiness.

Finally, the perfect transmission. No shift forks, dual clutches, and all that hydraulic clutter on SMG and DSG sequential boxes.

ZF's gotta be worried.
