    Arm rest positions? E82 Coupe

Has anyone noticed that the arm rest on the door is higher than the centre console arm rest in the folded down position?

It is very uncomfortable and my back is not straight when placing both arms on the arm rests. My E39 and E36 arm rests are not like this and I've not noticed an uncomfortable driving position in other BMW models when resting my elbows on the arm rests.
Is the whole 1 series range (hatchback and convertible) also like the coupe with respect to the arm rests uneven height?
