out of topic - computer question !

why is my computer switches between open windows when something happens in the other window ?
My notebook does not do this "feature" which makes me mad and almost to kick the sh@t out of the machine.

I switch between windows a lot (I usually keep open at least 10 programs/windows) in XP - and microsoft windows explorer.
how can I make sure the windows I minimize, keeps itself there until I enlarge it again ?

an another question - my computer can not remember a single user name or password. even if I click on the "remmeber this name" liitle boxes, never ever remembers.
on my other computer (vista on a notebook) if I type in a password it asks me if I want it to remember. This one does not even offers this.
an another feature that I can't stand. I use 10 different program all with different user name and password. I remember most of them but the idiot company's are changing the passwords - or they actually force you to change them every month. An another idiot thing but what can I do ? so I want to use that part of my brain for something else then remember 10 new passwords every month and match them to a user name.

    anybody can help ?

I'm using a dreaded pc with xp and microsoft explorer - something very recent version.

    Browser settings

    Password remembering:

    Tools/Internet Options/Content Tab/Autocomplete Settings/

You'll see a dialog box. Check the appropriate boxes.

As to popups and browser restores:

Tools/Pop up Blocker/Pop up Blocker Settings

The drop list at the bottom - set it to High.

but you might want to use...

    firefox instead.

internet explorer is pretty full of holes and many corporate orgs are steering clear.

i know its bad, its microsoft !

just like all of their products are, full of problems and troubles.
BG lost his touch when he started going after the power not the quality. He might owns 90% of all softwares that run on PC's but they are not the best ones.
I tried a Mac a few months ago and I'm very impressed.
neat packing easy software. next machine will be a mac destop.
until then I gotta make this pc last.
the flashing/jumping screen is not solved though.
its not the pop-up that bothers me, thats taken care of.

let me try and explain it better :
I open a window and start a search. till that is going I open an another one and start an another application work. yeah I'm heavily multitasking all the time. the 1st window when finishes the work switches back and if I'm at crazy speed typing something into window 2 then it will start immidiately typing into window 1.
If I close a window or open a new I want that to stay on until I switch back to the 1st window.
its not pop-up but the main windows are switching if there is activity in them.
I normally keep about 10 open and work in at least 2-3 or more simultaniusly.
hard to explain this and never seen this happen to any of my older machines or newers either.
I downloaded some idiot upgrade and then it started. the update was for of course MS IE patch and I can't find where did it set something.

but at least the passwords are working. same time when this function dissapeared.

    try this link

Apple hardware pretty, but very expensive. Use your current PC - it will run faster - just load Linux on it instead of WinBlows.

Both BSD (what Apple uses) and Linux (what my link points to) are Unix workalikes. You get it for free with Fedora. Contact me if you have any questions.

    What's running in these windows

Windows are associated with an application. Is the window that comes to the foreground automatically an IE web browsing window, or some other application like a desktop folder window or Word?
