I'll be a little preoccupied this year...
Like Hank (bimmer2.8), I'll be welcoming a new arrival (#2) sometime in August (wouldn't it be cool to have a kid with an 8/8/08 birthday?!). Something tells me I won't be making the trip to SC a month later. Hopefully 2009 will work out, though.
You think I can fit two baby seats in the Z3? (Insert memory of "baby on bumper" SNL skit...)

Bonus year! Well if you're not going I'm
certainly not attending! Who else would buy me girlie drinks and keep every thing civil at two in the morning? I think I may be heading to WI in Sept though.... If I can work it out... <font color=white>

We can serve girlie drinks in September
And Carl can even pay for them so that you can both feel right at home.

Guess I'll have to find another red car...
to park next to in the panoramic photo this year!
I saw the Boss at MSG (Madison Square Garden) a while ago and I wouldn't skip HC to see him. But I'm not a big fan of his anyway....

more than just the boss
I missed meeting him by 1 hour.....I left a bar in Belmar at 9:30pm on a Sunday night and he walked in at about 10:30, did a couple of songs with the band then mingled with the crowd for a while before leaving. My friends told me all about it. This is back before anyone had phones otherwise I'd have pulled a u-turn and ended up stuck in the swamps of Joisey.
HD has their parties every 5 years and I've made it to all of them since I've been living out here. All of Milwaukee turns into a Sturgis for a week. It's absolutely nuts. Last time I met BB King.

Re: more than just the boss
"All of Milwaukee turns into a Sturgis for a week. It's absolutely nuts."
There should be a heck of a lot of bikes, but I'm sure you'd agree that other than a lot of bikes HD is nothing like Sturgis. Sturgis is more like one of those things where they just let the dogs out as opposed to a HD rally being more like a black tie event at the Westminster Kennel Club. The latter is much more civilized. At least I've never heard of anyone piling up a bunch of Honda Goldwings and torching them. lol
"Last time I met BB King."
Now that would be cool. I don't really care for Bruce Springsteen myself, and I've seen ZZ Top more times than I can count, but I've never seen Mr. King and I keep telling myself to make more of an effort to change that next time he comes thru town. I had one chance to do that during Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival, but I left too early.
Side note: Saw something on TV the other night where Springsteen was acknowledging how weird it was that his biggest hit (Born in the USA) may have only been as big as it was because so many people misunderstood it; that it wasn't about being proud to be an American, but rather an anti-war song. For so many years I think I may have been the only one of my friends and I that had actually read the lyrics. :)
