    House got vandalised...

Last night, some prick used a black spray paint and wrote "[Oops!]" by the front door of the house and "[Oops!]!" on the garage door.
I cannot remember pissing off anyone.
How do you match the color of the paint? How do you get the correct color from the paint shop without cutting a piece of the siding out?

just take a sharp chisel and shave off a sample...

do this on a piece that you know you're going to repaint anyway. If you don't want to do this, then take a whole piece of siding off. If it's wood siding you can remove it by driving the nails all the way through with a drift pin (as long as they are finish nails that have been set). The siding will literally fall of so be careful. If the are ring shank or spiral shank nails you better stick with the chisel idea

I was able to take a small piece off and took it

to Home Depot. The computer matched the color perfectly. After spraying Kilz primer over the black spray writing, I painted the sidings. It looks very good now. Thank you.
But my white garage door needs some more work.

really sux that you had to go through this...

it seems that no matter where you live you can be a victim. I live in a very nice neighborhood here in Chesapeake, VA...but we have similar crap too. Twice in 2 years I have had windows shot out of 2 different cars. Both times they were parked on the street (the main drag of the neighborhood) and in each instance someone apparently drove by and with a BB gun shot out several car windows. I'd love to catch the lil bastids. I don't park on the street anymore. Have you considered security lighting (assuming you don't already have it)?

And...WTH, you probably needed to paint anyway, eh? : )

we had the same problem with vandalism

someone came down our street and slashed the street side tires on all of the cars parked on the street. thankfully the MINI was in the driveway, as I did not want to replace 2 runflats. but they got my little beater that I drive in the winter, and my Mother in law's car. so I had a bill for 4 tires, and no clue from the cops as to who did it.

Parked my mini cooper s at meadowhall, someone tied to pull my front windscreen wipers off, think try where testing for an alarm, made a mess of the wiper and my bonnet, but apparently meadowhall don't camera the lower level, so park it on the upper level.
I put it down to jealously more than anything, and lack of respect.
