    528e does not start

    1985 528e Does not start~ I have perform some test's that Rod Payne has posted. "Rod's Automobile Pages" Thanks Rod! I had a loose fuse so i have placed a O-ring; fuse still spins. How can I test that terminal? Volt meter when I tested it only read .004 on 12 volt scale. May have perform test wrong. Need some info. how to test for No start.Fuses, Relays,Etc... Car started when replaced loose fuse; Next day No start.

    uhhmn, about the only fuse that would prevent an E28 from starting would be fuse 1. Remove the fuse, clean up the contacts. Bend them towards each other to increase tension Replace the fuse with a new one of the same color. The fuse will only have power when the key is in the Run position. Set the meter to 20VDC, put the black lead to a ground and the red lead to the fuse. With the key on, you should be measuring battery voltage.
