Center Console Buttons

I have a 2005 745Li......it seems that the buttons on the center console that opens EACH side of the console are 'wearing' off, or actually coming off.....it appears that there is a decal or sticker over the buttons that is 'flaking' off. Anyone else have this problem and what is/was done about it? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

    Re: Center Console Buttons

to replace them some techs take out the whole center console but some get a drill and drill and hole in the button and pop them out with a angle pick. the new buttons just pop in.

They "used" to do that, until.....................

...BMW started to ask for them back then denied the claims once they saw the holes in them. :)

These buttons look terrible......they appear to have a 'sticker' over them that is wearing off. Anyone else have this problem?? Thanks,

    Has anyone here done this?

I'm comfortable with drilling the buttons out. Any particular spot for drilling? In the center or on the sides?

I just peeled of the sticker/coating and left it. No more peeling issues!

I did the same to mine. Way too much trouble to replace the switch for a peeling button. They just look black now instead of grey. At least I never have to worry about peeling again.

at a 45 degree angle twards the front of the vehicle. just be very careful.
