    Windshield Replacement Help: Richmond, VA

    Hello all,

Finally decided to replace my windshield for various reasons. Decided to use Safelite. I provided the chrome moulding and they supplied the windshield and gasket. Anyway, they spent 4 hours trying to install the windshield. I think they had it in and out at least 4 times trying different things. Its definitely not installed properly at the moment, but they are ordering a new PPG windshield and gasket rather than whatever brand they tried to install because it hasn't fit right.

Does anyone have any input on how this kind of windshield is supposed to be installed or have any advice I can relay to the Safelite people? Any issues or things to check befor installation? Also, is there anyone in Richmond that has had any luck with someone else?

    Thanks

    Tom

Call Jon at Autosport LLC, If he can't do it I'm

sure he can give you a reference for a shop that can. Don't use anything other than OE glass, all the replacements don't fit well and the windshield from BMW is price competitive if you are a BMW CCA member and get the discount.
