Our Man Flint Presidential Hotline tone
I found it in a .wav file somewhere, ran it through a sound editor to make a loop, and voila. Next time I would leave some silence at the beginning so I could have a chance to catch it on vibe only if I were quick enough.
This was way beyond my usual phone capabilities (kids had to show me how to change tones once).

Don't have one...
My phone is set to vibrate so I'm not as disruptive in meetings etc.
I guess I was turned off to the whole ring tone thing when I found out that I had to pay extra for them and I couldn't make my own. It might be different now.
Some people forget that they set a ring tone and let it play quite loudly for a while instead of answering the phone (or are they just trying to get attention?)
Might be fun to have "Dueling Banjos" when traveling in rural areas or the "Theme from Titanic" when on a cruise ship.

You are tech savvy enough
I don't know what phone you have, etc., but you are tech savvy enough that I'm guessing you could create ring tones for free. I created a handful for my old Razr and I created four or five just last night for my new iPhone even though, theoretically, you are supposed to only be able to "create" them with Apple's blessing, and $0.99, through iTunes. I did a quick search, played around with some files, and, voila, I had ringtones.

When they first came out with them...
you couldn't get them without paying a monthly fee so I guess that turned me off to them and I never really tried again (it wasn't that important to me).
But I know some people have fun with them and to each their own. Not trying to spoil anyone's fun, it just isn't a big deal to me.
