I also have an Oil Dip Stick, Alpina only?or 07/08
So
My oil light went on and I could not find the oil level in the i-drive menue that we have all become use to on the e65/e66.
So after a day or so I decide to look under the hood, and I'll be damed It has an oil dip stick....
So is this just on the Alpina or did they put dip sticks back after 2006 models?
Even after 7 years and 4 E65/E66's, there still something new to learn.

I could be wrong, but I believe your Alpina has the 4.4 L engine used prior to the '06 move to the 4.8. I think Alpina started it blown design on this previous engine. I doubt they would have removed the dip stick while they were perfoming their magic that would add 175 horses.

Well I'll be tarred and feathered...
I owe you a sincere apology my friend. It's been a while since I've had to add oil, but I was sure I had an oil dipstick in my 2006 E66. I would have bet on it. Then I started thinking, how could this guy be wrong after having four of these cars? So, I popped the hood. There is a float in the expansion tank to check the coolant level, and there is a dipstick near the firewall to check the ATF level, but for the life of me I can not locate a dipstick for the oil level. I wonder if I was thinking of my wife's car? When she gets home, I'll have to check under that hood too.
Sorry for doubting you, I feel like an a$$.
