    Ignition coils interchangeable?

Does anyone know if the ignition coil from an M535i can be used on a 528i?

The resistance readings are a bit too high on the one on my 528i. The coil on the M535i I'm breaking for spares has good readings.

I was just about to simply swap them round when I noted that they're slightly different...the one on the M535i being slightly fatter.

Is it ok to just go ahead and swap?

    Thanks in advance.

I've been using a Motronic coil with L-jet

Or rather, I've been using a 325e ignition coil with a 320i ignition and a 318i fuel injection (in my e30).

There seem to be a number of parts on these cars with different numbers and slight variations but no discernable difference in function. (igniton coils, ECUs, ICVs, TPSs, fuel pumps, fuel level senders, etc.)
