750 iL hood stuck - anyone have a photo?

    Hi All,

My 1990 750iL hood cable snapped and I read the drill hole procedure and tried it with no luck. Can anyone share a photo of what the latch assembly looks like (with the hood open) so I can see what I'm chasing here? I've got to get some oil in this car pretty soon!

Please help - my thirsty 750iL and I thank you in advance.
    Nick

    search: hood Patrick C88 750iL

he posted the pic back in 2003 or 2004, still there.
And I am still alive ;-)

And copied comments from Patrick C88 750iL in case of lost battery power:
Drill a hole at where is pointed to in the driver side of grill. Bend the tip of a flat screwdriver to form a hook 2 to 3 mm wide. Insert the screwdriver with the hook facing the centerline 3 to 4 inches into the hole and feel around to see if the hook can grab a
lever that releases the hood. When the hood is open you can apply 12V via the B+ Post. Then use your other key to open the driver side door as usual. This scheme works on a 750. If your's a 735 or 740 the hole position on the grill might be off a little bit. Good luck.
