Non Run flats on a 6 series
Hi everyone, i've owned a '05 645 for over two years and i can honestly say that i hate the run flat tires. Aside from the harsh ride, I've had to replace 2 rims and 3 tires within 2 years!
Has anyone put "Regular Tires" on their 6 series? And also, how do you solve the "Spare" issue? I heard that you can buy a KIT from a 5 series (which includes the jack and small tire)and fits in the trunk.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Re: Non Run flats on a 6 series
Well you won't hear a great success storey from me, but I did change to PS2s from OEM RFT (two sets in 52k miles) on my sport (staggered sizes) setup. Much as I wanted to I could not tell much difference. Not much in ride, noise or performance. In fact I felt they were worse on hard cornering situations such as founf on the Tail of the Dragon (318 curces in 11 miles). I really had to pump up the pressures (42-43) in front to keep from feeling I was rolling over. I just changed tires and wheels and went to Pirelli on 20 inch rims. That I could tell was slightly more harsh, but not alot. Did feel better than the PS2s in cornering, probably due to lower profile to keep same rolling circumferance. I got a BMW Modility kit (goo plus pump) but this can be a non-BMW system as well. In total of 73k miles I have never had a flat nor a bent rim.

Re: Non Run flats on a 6 series
I have an 04 645cic and went away from the run flats at about 50K miles. I do a lot of highway driving and went to the Kuhmo tires and have had good luck. This is the second set of Kuhmos that I have bought (2 sets for my '99-540i6). I now have 66K miles on it. I do notice a slight wheel vibe right when I take off in the morning when the tires are cold, but it quickly goes away (alignment was just recently done). Otherwise, very satisfied.
