I R&R my rotors every 2 pad sets ~ 70k+ miles. I
used semimetalic pads so that's very hard on rotor compare to OE organic pads so it's ~ 100k miles. Changing rotors every 40k miles with pads is overkill, IMO, unless it's warped.
