BTW, no thanks on the client offer,,,,

I am not sorry you would not seek me out for legal advice. You seem to be under the impression that lawyers want new clients or that I would want to represent you.

Uh, gee, no thanks. Not in a million years.

    I think I pay about $1400 a year

Kids really drive up the rates, don't they?

The M Roadster has the highest premium and also raised my umbrella policy the most. But even then, I think it is only a few hundred a year - but it is in storage most of the time, so the premium is lower.

I used to be in the investement real estate thing (got out early and made money) and had a lot of policies - 22 at one time. I think I am down to 16 now.

I realized it pays to shop policies around and also go to higher deductables and eliminate "junk" coverage like rental cars and towing.

Stated value policies are nice and all, but since the incentive for fraud is so high, they can be very pricy. As I noted, what is parked in the garage is not (or should not) be the most expensive asset or liability on the books. People worry about insuring cars, when they depreciate like mad and can be readily replaced at a fairly reasonable cost.

Insurance can be all over the board. Boat US quoted me $2200 to insure one of my boats. But United Marine Underwriters charges only $690. That's a huge delta.

It does pay to shop around. GEICO did save me 15% as advertised, and also made the process painless and easy.

Now they are notorious for being stingy on paying claims, but I don't shop for insurance based on the idea that I intend to file a claim.

Like I said, others tend to look at insurance like a Chinese take-out menu.

Whoa. I'm guessing I've never seen you at my local Whataburger, huh? :)

So you are suggesting that Fred made a false claim

in his post. That is an essential element of your allegation.

Let me help here, see the attached link

It might by now have become apparent that I hold significant sensitivity toward unwarranted claims of false statements. Those UNWARRANTED claims do have the significant potential to be defamatory.

"can't" No recovery process for road hazard.

I guess the could but knowing that it is 99.99% chance that they cannot recover a nickel, why would they waste their time? They certainly would not do it at the request of someone just because he happens to own a couple of semi nice cars.... Insurance companies are in business to make money and chasing non existent subrogation opportunities to keep clients egos intact is not a profitable endeavor.

Re: can't No recovery process for road hazard.

You know thorough communication is quite often very difficult on these boards. Reading this post and others you’ve made subsequent to my question lead me to the understanding that we agree that there is little or NO for value Fred’s carrier to seek recovery from GEICO.

The fact that they CAN'T as a component of a good business model is a subtlety I didn’t assume from reading your earlier post. My apology.

¿Question? In general terms, or within the terms of the company you represent, is this situation with a stone thrown by a tire defined within the terms of “Road Hazard”?

Please accept this as a legitimate question. It is a fine point I don’t independently understand and thanks in advance for the opportunity to learn.

    same thoughts

Ya know, stuff happens. I guess that's why we have insurance...

It does bug me though. I have three daughters and there are guys out there that will follow them down and threaten to sue them over some road gravel.

    Mercedes-Benz Finacial's take on it.....

"First Class Windshield Replacement - Is anything besides road debris covered?

No. Only covers the replacement of windshield if damage caused by propelled rocks or other road hazard debris such as wood debris, metal parts, plastic or composite scraps or any other propelled object."

    Next to my house...m

The Z8 is the most valuable and does not depreciate but instead, appreciates thus the agreed value policy which alone is $1300.00 / yr.

    Interesting read; however, not

for the reason you might have intended. It has no bearing on the topic at hand and does nothing to change my opinion or give rise to self reflection.

    They are weasels

They would rather defend one of their drivers committing fraud, rather than pay a valid claim.
