Newbie - run flat removal question

My apologies up front for what is a real newbie question. At least, newbie to the E90 and run flats. I have owned a Z3 for 4 years now and am comfortable doing basic maintenance on it. I just purchased a CPO '06 330i with run flats. I figure I'll run them until something happens and then explore replacing with regular tires. However, in the mean time I want to be able to pull them off to do brake/suspension work. I have noticed that one of the lug nuts on each wheel is different and even found an adapter in the trunk tool kit. But i can find no documentation about it and am hesitant to just pull the wheels off without knowing if something else will have to be done (tire pressure monitors, etc). Can anyone provide some basic guidance? Thanks!

the tool is used to remove one lug on each

wheel...there should be no other concerns whatsoever. Git to it!
