    Coolant issue

    Coolant in resevior is leaking someplace.car doesn't run hot, have checked oil and its ok no coolant in oil..no sweet smell in the interior or not steaming from rear tailpipe...no puddle behind drivers side wheel...coolant light on the obc comes on daily and when i check resevior its empty.. car has a new waterpump.any and all information is greatly appreciated

    If this occured after the new w/pump, may just

    not be filled all the way yet. turn on the heater and add coolant as needed. If it's leaking out, you'll see it somewhere. Only time I had one that I couldn't find the leak on was when the head gasket leaked onto the exhaust manifold which evaporatd the coolant leaving no traces...THAT was a hard one to find on an M635.

    Point car uphill. Add coolant. Warm up engine and

    open vent screw on thermostat housing to bleed out all the trapped air.

    Re: Coolant issue

    Check the rear of the cylinder head for leaking from the heater hose and the gasket holding the water "pipe" to the head.
