Replace battery in Z3 3.0 coupe

Question....I need to replace the battery in my 2001 Z3 3.0 Coupe. I have the new battery ready to go in. The only confusing part - the Coupe has a 'battery safety bar' that assists in holding the battery in place (picture of it on pg 157 of the owner's manual, IIRC). The original battery is still in the Coupe, so I believe that nothing's been changed.

My problem is that I can't identify what type of screw or bolt that attaches the 'battery safety bar' to the bodywork....I don't see a screwhead, nor does it look like it'll accept a wrench to take it out...wondering if BMW has a special tool to remove the screw/bolt.

Weird. It uses something normal (10mm hex, I think) on my car. Both bolts (the left side of the strap, and the clamp at the rear) are same I'm pretty sure.
