Weird dummy lights are on...what's the deal?

Over the past 4 days they've come on twice. Usually if I turn off the engine for an extended period they don't come back. It's the ABS, traction control, brake, and tire sensor light, all at once. Any ideas? Perhaps a sensor or fuse? No loss of power. Any input appreciated. 2001 E46 M3 coupe, 83xxx miles. Thanks.

I will try to remember to check my book tonight

I recall that multiple lights at one time actually does mean something. If I remember, I will try to look it up tonight. I'll post back tomorrow if I find something or not.

could be a wheel speed sensor up front...

they get clogged up with tire junk.....

simple allen wrench can take it out...attaches to the back of the spindle....you'll see it....allen wrench....one bolt.

I let you down and did not check.

I got carried away in my remodel project at home and forgot. I will pull the manual tonight and report. Sorry about the delay.

Checked my Bentley's, no info on multiple lights

Might just be an electrical bug? Or like snook says maybe?

Sorry I didn't have anything more.

    great directions!

Pulled and cleaned both front sensors, hope that will do the trick. They were indeed gunked up with metal shavings. Thanks again Snook.

    update: lights still on

Cleaned the front wheel sensors, the lights still come on after a few minutes of driving (ABS, brake, DSC, tire pressure monitor). I'll clean the rear ones soon and see if it clears things up.
