    E30 Speaker Depth

Would anyone be able to tell me the mounting depths for e30 speakers? I'll be replacing stock speakers, and have no idea what depth would work on the rear deck, and the kickpanels. Thanks

    suggestions.

Because of the trunk bars the rear OEM speakers are quite shallow. I think they were 4 inch and no deeper than about 1 1/2 inch. For great sound you can purchase a riser and get a 6X9 to work. Also you can get up to a five inch shallow depth into the rear side panel. I canot remember the depth of the 6X9 as it was a long time ago and I would have to take apart to measure . I do know that I had a good size magnet and IT sounds great. I like reggae so I plan to build a sub-box using a 12X9 woofer. A great place for inexpensive speakers is partsexpress.com I will post oic of riser a lil later as the one I took did not turn out well.
