Alarm piece (bump stop)

Hello All,

I am stumped. My BMW alarm has had some problems. After replacing the switch in the front part of the hood, which depresses and therefore engages the alarm, I still couldn't figure it out. It turns out that the piece which attaches to the hood, a small black stop was missing, therefore not depressing the swith all the way. I am having the hardest time finding the part number for this bump stop. Could anyone help?

I really don't see anything that fits that description. But, I'm looking @ a 1999. Not sure of your model-year.

Totally Paul! Thanks so much, but it is such a small piece and it really is not listed as far as I can see. I spoke with Circle BMW parts department who did seem to think that it is a universal part meaning it fits many models. In any case, they suggest that I purchase a taller switch which BMW changed around 1999. It was only 12 bucks so we will see if that does the trick.

Thanks Paul,

I received my new switch from the dealer today from 13 bucks. It is indeed taller with a newly designed top part which will enable the connection much easier. It was a redesigned part by BMW. I guess I was not the only one whose Alarm was not engaging.

I won't be able to get to my car for a week, but I am confident that this is different than the current switch and should do the trick.

I'll keep you posted.
