Needs info on flushing and refilling cooling syste

    - Particuarly how to burp the system to ensure all air is out when refilling. I used to have an e39 that had a screw type petcock at the top of the system. I am helping a friend with an e34 after he has attempted to flush and fill himself and has overheated the car. Now hes calling me. Thanks for the help... Hot in Austin

Depending on the model. The E34 525 M50 has a screw type vent on top of the expansion tank next to the radiator cap. The 530/540 M60 are self venting.

    Forgot to mention.....

Forgot to mention. If the thermostat was replaced, make sure the thermostat was put in correctly with the arrow or vent hole at the top to help vent the air.
