SCCA M Coupe Restoration Project
Photo Gallery
Full restoration of the first race car BGB Motorsports ever owned and the first race car I ever raced. Prior to its arrival, the car had extensive engine work done. Serious S52 race motor. We didn't touch the engine bay. However, everything else on the car was repainted and pretty much re-done.
Additions Included:
AIM MXL Pista Data System with air/fuel & GPS
Push button starter (key stays in rear latch for those times when you belt yourself in and remember that the key is still in the hatch door lock)
Switch console for diff cooler, main, fans, wipers, fog lights, etc.
Carbon fiber front hood
Rennline tow hooks
SPA electronic fire suppression system
Single dry break fuel fill
Randy Forbes subframe update
New paint
New roll cage
Car with 4 gal of fuel is now 2540 lbs!!!!

John can you email me?
I'm going to turn my MCOUPE into a full racer, I would love to get all the details of your project.

Feel free to contact me offline. I'm also heading in that direction and, among other things, have thick file on aero stuff.

Re: SCCA M Coupe Restoration Project
Extremely impressed!!!
Car looks beautiful. Absolutely beautiful!
Can you give me any info on the front splitter, hood, and rear wing? As of now my car just sits on the back of a trailer (which isn't as nice as yours..lOL!), so why not go this way. My weight limit for my class is 2520lb...this would be perfect!
Thanks

Sorry...must have missed this one.
The rear wing is from a Porsche 996 Cup car.
The front splitter was fabricated by the car's prior tech so I can't be of any help but might be able to get you some pics.
The hood is from a place called RaceonUsa or something like that. I've attached the link. Pat Avakian passed on that information. They gave me a screaming deal on the hood. It retails for $1200 or $1000 but there was a group buy on Bimmerforums I believe. $600 plus shipping.
Feel free to send me an email if you have further questions.

Yes...(more)...
My friend is losing a battle with cancer that's been ongoing for over a year. I think that driving the car again was a big motivating force for him. While he did get to drive the car when i delivered it, he unfortunately won't ever have the opportunity to race it. I'm trying to sell the car for his wife to alleviate some of the concerns that she's dealing with. If you know of anyone interested, please have them email me.
Thanks AC.
