Looking for some help.
Just purchase 06 750il and it seen that my radio volume keep going up and down. I notices this when the radio station reception keeps going into HD and then back to normal analog. It seems like it a weak signal but they are local FM stations. The recession is kind of ****ty but not sure how to fix it. Could I have a bad antenna?

Re: Radio Issues
In the settings of I-Drive, look @ the volume for speed, meaning that as your accelerate to a high speed, the volume increases to compensate, do not know if this is the problem. Also, the radio does not broadcast in HD, stereo or analog. The 7 has a lot of electronics & the reception is not like other radios in other vehicles. You will just have to live with it.
Use CD's and if you have Logic 7, you will not be upset. If you manually scan & it picks up a few stations, then that is normal. The signal has to be very strong in order for the system to pick up a station. If you scan manually & it picks up nothing, then you know for sure that there is something wrong with the antenna or system or possibly a software update.
It is suggested you find another owner of a 7 series to determine if the symptoms are identical.
Hope this helps. Thank you.

Re: Radio Issues
It almost sounds like you have described my experience with HD radio on my home amplifier. (I have Premuim sound in my '06 750 with Sirius Satellite but do not have HD.)
I have an external antenna on my home amplifier and a local station transmits HD on at least two channels (HD1 & HD2). While the standard signal comes in fine, it regularly jumps between the analog and HD signals with the symptoms you note in your car. This makes sense with digital transmissions whether it is radio, TV, satellite etc: Either you get them or you don't, there is no in between. Given FMs irregular transmission footprint, it all adds up.
I'll have to ask a friend with a new 5 Series/HD Radio if he has similar experience with mobile HD. Aside from the other suggestion of checking your volume control in stop and go traffic, I'm guessing your radio is fine. How does it work on a local FM station that does NOT transmit in HD?
