gauge cluster swap 84 533i Japan

The 2 odometers stopped working, and my shop said the easiest fix might be to simply re and re the cluster, a job that takes about 15 minutes.

The speedometer is calibrated to 240 km/h, but the replacement to 220 km/h. Would actual speed be slower or faster than indicated speed ?

Alternatively, any shops in Canada where I can send my broken odometers for repair ?

I used North Hollywood Speedometer many years ago

for my e23. Do you just have broken plastic gears in the odometer? If so there is someone in the US who just sells you new gears. They are not hard to put in. Ask on the e23 board on bimm erboard dot com and someone will know. I have forgotten the name of the guy myself. Or do a search there.

You might have a bad SI board also, I did. They

can be fixed or replaced. Do a search for that.
