Uneven cold idle
I have a 1985 325e with 152K on it. The timing belt went before I bought it a couple of months ago, and the valves where re-done at that time. At start-up the car runs at an uneven idle until it gets warm and sounds like its going to stall. Since I bought it I have put about 2000 miles on it, I was told it sat for over a year before I bought it. Any thoughts? By the way, I am a new member, so I'm not sure if I am posting this right.Nicks 325

better to post to the main E30 forum (not lounge)
As for the idle, you might check:
1) that the cold-start valve is operating properly.
2) There are two connectors at the rear of the valve cover which can be reversed.
3) Also, should verify throttle position sensor operation, etc.
Just a first few thoughts.
