R.I.P.
Beginning six years ago when the Z4 was new, this forum was hot! It had remained that way for a number of years but now it's grown very cold. The car is still very much alive and appreciated by many current and previous owners, but that love no longer seems to be expressed on this message board. If this post even makes it to posting, I don't expect it to last long. Bye.TO//M

Re: actually, it'll last awhile
I agree. I don't know what happened. This was the first message board that I joined when I got my first Z4 in '03. For a long time it was the only Z4 message board that I went on and it was always active. I go on three others and they are all pretty active, especially one. I still check this every once in a while and I am always surprised that there is virtually nothing new on this. I guess I continually check, hoping that it comes back to it's former self or maybe I am a creature of habit.

Re: actually, it'll last awhile
I think it is twofold, the format and the editing.
While I do not mind the format, I think most people prefer the newer-style message boards that use this format:
http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/f...?s=&forumid=47
(I used a non-BMW website since most of the links to BMW websites are censored by roadfly)
And while it is certainly within their rights as the operator of this message board to censor links to other websites as they see fit, I think the intrusiveness of this blacklisting of links to other sites frustrated some people. I know I find it frustrating at times.

Re: actually, it'll last awhile
no kidding. With posts sanitized of "competing" forum websites, that could be one reason for the drop here. I confess it's been months, if not a year since I've been on here and I'm shocked at the lack of recent content. Back in '03 it was THE PLACE for Z info, tips and news. the love affair with my '03 is as heavy as ever, but once I got situated with the vehicle I stopped going on the forum--perhaps many other owners did the same. Glad I came back tho and saw the news about ZFest '10! <img src="http://forums1.roadfly.com/preferences/showsigimage.php?img=72940">

Re: actually, it'll last awhile
This was also my first site when I first got my '03 Z4. For the longest time through three years of ownership of that vehicle, it was also my main site where I learned a lot about my car. The board was the most active at the time. I cannot believe how it dropped off. I still check it out, but I cannot believe how you can almost go for days without many new posts.
