    Poor Idle + code 1212 + Frustrated

    1995 530it with 208k miles

I lost all engine power this morning. It still started and idled ok but not enough power to drive it. The code came up with 1212- O2 sensor. I bought a new one and put it in. It now idles worse and dies after 10 seconds. I cleared the 1212 code and no new code has appeared. I did jump the fuel pump with a 12v power supply but still no change. Replaced crank and cam sensors and fuel pump relay. This happened last year and a new O2 sensor fixed it right up. Suggestions?

    Thanks, Wool

Check and clean your Idle Control Valve (ICV. Make sure the inside move freely.

    Vacuum Leak?

Check for vacuum leaks. How about the fuel pressure regulator?

I fixed the O2 sensors, any thoughts on the air mass sensor? Is there a way to test it to make sure?

Your car has 2 oxygen sensors. Also there is another sensor that the dealer changes out at the same time.
