    top won't open

my top motor started sounding like it needed a good lube job...now it won't open at all. When I press the button I get a yellow light. My mechanic is not all that familiar with working on convertible tops on Z4s. Before I send him into exploratory search mode does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. Matt

Have you checked the fluid level and.....

if that is good, why don't you disconnect the motor from the mechanism and run the motor. If the motor is frozen, it will show at this state of the game.

You may be able to lube it and solve the problem or you may have to replace it. All of this is in the DIY category unless you just don't work on cars.

If you are in Northern California, I would be happy to help you.
