my 92 535i has the stock head unit still in. i wanted to replace with a gps head unit, so i need a flip down style one. my questions are, has any one put one of these in? is there an issue with the screen hitting the steering wheel or levers?

i have looked at a kenwood and a clarion unit, i refuse to put a jensen one in.

I put a Pioneer AVIC in my '91 850i, works fine.

Looking at my '90 535i, I am not sure the flip
up screen would go all the way up because of the
padding around the foglight switch.

The Pioneer has an angle adjustment for the screen
to avoid hitting this, but it looks like the screen
would not be vertical if installed on my e34

Did you check crutchfield.com. You can out in your vehicle info and it will show you the units that will fit.95 525i

i did check crutchfield and the selection was limited. kenwood and clarion where the only ones that had the features that i wanted and would fit. i wasn't sure if anyone had used something that they didn't offer.

i don't want to skimp on the unit that i am putting in because my 92 only has 38k on it. i am only doing this once so i want to make sure that i look at every option.
