Value cover gasket at 47,600 miles
Just got my 2006 e90 330i from the shop. Valve cover gasket needed replaced at 47,600. I'm glad I have the CPO warranty. $50 is must better that $695 for the repair.

Re: Of course the $695 charge is an
The dealer in Savoy IL is one of the best in the country. I would put Twin City BMW up against anyone dealer. These guys really try to meet the customers needs.__________________

Re: Value cover gasket at 47,600 miles
So far the repair seem to be perfect. After 500 miles the gasket is holding strong. __________________

Re: Value cover gasket at 47,600 miles
I also needed a valve cover gasket at 48K on my '06 325. It was covered under warranty in full. I may be an exception in that the dealer found 2 of the 16 cover screws broken, (could only conclude that this happened in production). Needless to say, they were embarressed by this. The solution was a heli-coil kit that came from BMW, because of this the repair took almost 2 weeks to complete. Inskip BMW (RI) provided a BMW loaner at no charge during the entire time. After 8K miles there's no oil leak, everything is fine. I imagine that BMW is aware of this issue. My advice is to watch for leaks, I found mine with just a visual inspection.
