Which is better engine 323, 325 or 328 more...
I have alot of experience working on the 325 engine, but I do not know much about the 323 or 328. I have a 525 with 180k that runs great and I am getting ready t buy a E90 for my son and wanted to know if the 323 or 328 have any issues different than the 325.

Way different from M50B25TU
Other than oil changes, there are very few do-it-yourself parts on the newer engines. There are no 2.3l engines in the US. There is only one model year of 2.5l (and it's actually 3.0l) in the E90. The 2.8l is also actually a 3.0l. The 2006 3.0l was a single-year engine, and has an entirely different induction system than the 2.5/2.8. All E90 engines have proven themselves to be as bullet-proof as the M50.
They have a superficial resemblence to an M50, but are almost totally different. Not to say you can't work on them, especially the cooling system, but you absolutely need a code reader and even then you can't really tell what's wrong without the GT1 diagnostic computer.
