EFI Conversion on late E21 Head

Has anyone here ever seen an EFI conversion on the later head? I'm wondering if it is possible to machine the holes to fit a standard efi injector. I guess some sort of boss would need to be welded to the head to mount the fuel rail as well. Any thoughts?

I've heard of it being done, but usually the holes are just plugged and then a different intake manifold (such as the e30 318i version) with its own injector holes is used.

I agree with TJ about plugging the injector holes in your head or not, and running the 318i manifold and injectors. Very straight forward swap. I ran a new E21 factory motor in my '02 with injectors installed with no problem for years, they only open when fuel pressure is appleid.
