Car won't crank - possible front position sensor

I have a 1985 635csi (49,000K) - I replaced the water pump and thermostat this week. I also replaced the front position sensor since one of the wires was frayed. After putting the car back together I get no spark or fuel. I drove the car into the shop and it was running fine. I get no voltage to the sensor - I traced the wire back to the diagnostic plug - with no further connection to the ECU. I suspect autozone sold me the wrong part - possibly a rear crank sensor. WHat am I doing [email protected]
