follow these instructions...
sounds like you have "AntiVirus Live" or something similar - it's not technically a "virus" but "malware." It sits there and tells you that you have a virus, blocks Net access, and blocks access to your Task Manager. All in an effort to get you to click thru to a "removal tool" which costs money and does absolutely nothing.
So the first thing to do is relax - your computer isn't being trashed. But you do have to follow the instructions carefully - I've been through this several times with my daughter's computer and these instructions worked fine.
FYI, if you see the window pop up in the future, the best thing to do is an immediate hard reset of the computer.

Safe Mode with Networking.
Download, update, and run Malwarebytes. Usually takes care of it. Check c:\windows and c:\windows\system32. Sort by date. Eliminate any .exe, .dll. or .dat with today's (or yesterday's) date. Empty Temporary Internet Files.
And update to Windows 7. Seems to be better at avoiding that crap. For now, anyway.___________________________________________ _________________
