3-series convertible handling on winter roads

Could someone let me know if good performance winter snow tires will suffice for handling issues on BMW 3-series rear-wheel drive convertible in snowy climes?

If you're going to go out in the snow at all

All I know is don't do it with summer performance tires AT ALL. You'll be horrified with the bad traction. And leaving performance tires on the front wheels is putting you at risk. Best snow suited tires all around.
