    What might go here.

From what I can tell, in the photo the amplifier is on top, optional space (taken up by two storage bins) and a larger space on the bottom. What else can fit in the space that the storage bins not take up and what is meant to go in the larger space at the bottom? Your comments appreciated.

Actually your car is configured differently here

than my '04 330Ci. I have a vertical amplifier mounted just forward from your open area. Do you have the BMW Business radio?

One of the spaces in the storage box area is used for the factory BMW Alpine 6 CD trunk changer that is dealer installed. (or DIY as I did)

Are you just exploring, or did you have something specific in mind?

..... What did go there ?

actually the silver thin long box you have
labeled "amplifier" is actually the SOS road side
    assistance telemetric control unit.
    the other openings were for:

    6-disk CD changer

    Navigation computer drive

ULF telephone components with signal booster box

Stinger9 is right about the CD Changer

In my 2003 330ci, the upper bin is where the CD changer resides, I installed it myself as well. I do not have nav in my car so the lower bin is left in place (I use it to store a second loaded CD cartridge, wrapped in a shop towel so it won't rattle around).

I also installed a Bluetooth ULF module, that's what goes in the space below the bins.

I beleive I do have the business radio. Works fine other than cruddy long range AM reception. I have a six disc CD changer from my 318i - 1994. Wonder if that would fit?

I suspect your used CD player would not match up

without some knowledgeable tinkering, if at all.
