Re: 76 coil resistor wire ?

I DIDN'T GET MY MESSAGE TYPED. I HAVE A FLAMETHROWER COIL & THE ORIGINAL CLEAR PLASTIC "SPEAKER WIRE" RESISTEOR WIRE.
    MY QUESTIONS ARE:
WHERE DOES THE RESISTOR ORIGINATE? IGNITION SWITCH?
SECOND, MY WIRE HAS EVIDENCE OF GETTING WAY TOO HOT, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

The resistor feels like a lump in the wire 7 its located approx 5 inches from the coil. Wires that appear to have been hot are drawing to many amps, a larger diameter wire may work.
