    Removal of Door Lock Button

I fail to find the method of removing the driver's door lock button. Even the Bentley Manual doesn't say how. Usually the button turns counter clockwise on other cars, but doesn't work on my 2000 M Roadster. I want to lubricate the lock mechanism below since the system binds up partially and getting at it through the empty lock button hole should make that easier. Any help on how this lock pin comes out (without removing the door panel)? Thanks for any help !

You can just pull the black plug off of the side

of the door (inner door jamb) and spray from there.

What he says: note the black plug is actually TWO

pieces (although it may not look like it) and you need to pull the inner one out.

While your at it...if your rubber trim gaskets are cracked and need replaced(like mine were on my M), they are cheap and easily replaced. I bought them on ebay for 2 or 3 dollars(shipping was about $5 as I recall). I will see if I can find the diy link and get back to you.
