What has happened to Dell Computers.

So I was really bored and started looking at my credit reports. Hum, what is this "Web bank/dfs" with a credit limit of 10k doing on my credit reports (all three). I do a quick google and find Dell is behind the account, drag out my old paper work and find the full account number and then call them.

I ask them to close the account and send a report to the three credit companies. The guy told me that the account hadn’t been used in three months so for their record keeping, it was closed. He told me it wasn’t their job to report the account closure to Equifax, Experian, or Trans Union that it was mine.

I said hold on a minute, in the credit reports you not only sent them an update, but also increased my credit limit in March of this year. Therefore to them the account isn’t closed and why would you increase my credit limit if the account was closed.

I repeated that I wanted the account closed, wanted a confirmation number from them of it being closed and for them to send the information to the credit companies with copies to me.

He said the matter was out of his hands and before I could ask to speak to his supervisor, he hung up on me.

I hope you all have had better luck dealing with Dell than me.
