    indicator and brake light

Twice in the last year, the second time this week, my wife has had the indicator and brake light flash on and the vehicle momentarily had a "braking" sensation then it was gone and the lights are off. Anyone have an idea what is going on and how to fix this? 2001 Z3 Roadster 2.5

    Thanks, Mark

Sounds like the ABS working as intended

    during a hard brake event.

If you are saying that the .....

ABS light came on and the brakes made a shudder sound AND as Steve sez, during hard braking, then the ABS system is doing it's job. If you were just driving and NOT braking then your ABS is trying to engage and needs to be inspected ASAP / NOW.

    another possibility...

Is she sure that it was the brake light and not the ASC/DSC light? If the tires momentarily lost traction, the traction light will flash and power will be cut from the engine. That could account for the "braking sensation" and the system was doing its job.

Find out when it occurred and let us know (during braking, during acceleration, pushing through a corner at speed, etc.).
