    stupid deployment...

...I'd be there otherwise! I'd love to make ZFest but it's too far this year. I like the "unofficial, non-sanctioned homecoming" idea, too. Think we can relocate to central Asia? The roads here are...well...there aren't any roadster-friendly roads here but we could share a few (well the limit is 2) beers. Hmmm...maybe Spartanburg or LA work better...

At least I have a good view from my "dorm"

    IS THERE A PLAN????

Is there a plan for something Z related? A room at the Embassy Suites is not a plan!

Just a few people getting together at the Embassy to share their passion for BMW Z's. There are 4 of us coming down as a group and I have heard rumors of a lot more coming. The trip to Z'fest in LA is just to far for us east coasters.

Not whinning, just don't have the time to do a cross country ride. And while I don't have Blain's milage, mine is a daily driver with 133000 miles. Some day I hope to do the cross country drive in my Lil Z3 and I'm hopping to have this car till the day I die.

    There's more to it.

For a lot of people, it's not an issue of laziness, or trying to keep the garage queen's miles down.

It's an issue of only being able to be away from the office for so long. And having other interests that use a lot of the vacation we do get each year.

Not all of us are retired/unemployed/rich.

If you don't have the time to drive fly and rent. The cross country thing is a total blast. Try it.

    Re: Greenville/Labor Day

Still thinking about it. I'm hoping this constant 90+ degree weather breaks eventually. Coming to Greenville to sweat even more doen't sound like much fun right now. Really looking forward to the Maggie Valley run this Fall. Not likely to snow again in October this year. What happened to 'normal' seasonal weather?

    The PLAN so far...

    Hello again All,

We are still working on the Homecoming planning and need your help. We need at least 50 people (25 Z’s) RSVP’d to reserve and close Rivera’s restaurant in Greer again. If you haven’t sent your RSVP yet please do so today. As you may recall the meal was fabulous but her business has really taken off and to close up shop for us it has to be advantageous for her and us. Host hotel is still the Embassy.

Also here is what we are thinking right now for an itinerary…

    Friday

    Lunch in Greenville TBD
    Afternoon country drive
    Cocktails at the Embassy
    Dinner at Joe’s (tradition)

    Saturday

    Breakfast in the Atrium
Morning Drive to Lunch destination (subject to change to picnic at the plant)
    Afternoon Drive
    Cocktails at the Embassy
    Dinner at Rivera’s of Greer

    Sunday

Return home at start Fall Drive Planning

    Re: Homecoming?

The "first" one was essentially an uninvited, informal gathering, so why not do it again? Although we have been kicked out of the house, it IS still "home."
