Post worthless without pics and how did it...
affect the key FOB reception?

yes it is but it's worth noting. Recent tint on
my E92 335 cut the response distance down to nearly zero.

I have an update on the tinting that you may want to consider before putting tinting on your car. After having had the tinting for over a month, I finally rolled down the windows (first decent day in Dallas). I noticed that I had small scratches that extended from the top of my of two of my windows to the bottom of those windows. When I called the service advisor at my dealership he told me that BMW does not recommend putting tinting on the car and that any issues would be on my nickel. I complained about this and they said that they would look into it for free this one time. I guess that the seals on the window are quite tight and they can collect particulates. These particulates can scratch the tinting. I believe that they will replace the seals (this one time) for free. However, I have to pay to have the windows retinted.
Please keep this in mind if you are getting window tinting.
