Intermittent won't start 81 911SC
OK, for about 5 years my baby has not started occasionally, sometimes once a month, others once a day. It has always finally started after 5-6 tries, and 20 seconds of cranking. No pattern, cold, hot, but it always started first time of the day in the garage.
Whatever it is, it has finally broken, the car won't start at all. Any pointers to how to diagnose, have meter, just no idea where to start!

I see that you got no replys, hinz no help,I too have the same problem with my 83 SC.Changed fuel pump, fuel filter, coil, still no fire. The more I read I feel there is something in the starter switch or tack causing the problem.Did you find your problem? If so could it help me. I had a problem like that. Starts great on the first start of the day and then turn it off for 30 minutes and I got nothing but a light on the dash. Sometimes it would restart after an hour or so, once just as the tow was backing up. Sometimes it would not restart till the next day. Solution: rebuilt starter. No problems since then.
