John, trust me on this one, even though

I've made it clear in the past that I'm not the biggest fan of Favre, this does kind of sadden me (if it's true) to realize that another role model to many may be fixing to see it all thrown away, along with a marriage assuming he's still married.

Right now I'm seeing his bio titled something like "How to Piss Away A Legacy".

Ok, maybe somebody even more odd than Sir Favre has been known to be is trying to pull off the ultimate [tasteless] prank. I'm not saying he's guilty as charged, but the evidence just seems to keep mounting.

Re the cellphone recording, I'm familiar with voice alteration software, I've played around with beta releases from a couple of companies (work related...trust me, I have no interest in the stuff IRL...lol), but nothing I'm aware is available in beta form that can do this good of a job at altering a voice. So based on what I hear on the cell phone calls, I can't see it being anyone but him. And I understand from other stories the caller-id from where the calls were placed did in fact trace back to a phone owned by one Brett Favre. So it's looking like the t's are cross and the i's are dotted unfortunately.

In case you've allowed yourself to remain happily obvlivious to what's going on, you need to check this out:

    A short recap

And then the cellphone call. I actually hope I'm wrong, seriously. But I'm thinking there's no way this can be anyone but him. Btw, in case you don't see the warning, be aware this is NWS (and generally pretty lewd stuff) beginning somewhere around the 2:00 mark. And to tell you the truth, it's the only single part about this cellphone thing that got me thinking it might not really be Favre after all. I mean, I've made it clear that while I recognize he's a good QB, I don't think of him as the sharpest pencil in the box. But I'm thinking surely even he's not this stupid to send pics like that.

    Sounds like him to me

Fwiw, Lance Rentzel was a hero to me when I was young until I learned he had a problem keeping his pants up. So you're not alone in knowing what disappointment feels like. :-)

(I still think you have a kickass QB in Rogers btw)

    I'm right there with you.

I was as big a Favre fan as anyone. I knew by living by the Favre that some years we died by the Favre. But his approach to the game was infectious. I was willing to defend him on a lot because of what he brought to the team.

When he left, it was VERY disappointing. I lost a lot of respect for him. It wasn't all his fault, but he played a pivotal role with his inability to make a decision. Even then, watching him play for the JETS wasn't terrible.

When he decided to go to the Vikings, after having admitted twice that his desire to play there was to "get back" at Ted Thompson, I lost what I thought was all respect for him. In order to get back at Ted Thompson, he had to throw Packers fans under the bus. Those same Packers fans that had supported him through the thick and thin of his personal life losses, challenges, etc. I still left my Packer Favre stuff up in my Packer room, but I kind of treated it as though he had died and this was just remembering what HAD been.

I didn't think that there was much Favre could do to further tarnish his legacy. He had pretty much flushed that down the toilet in my mind. He went from blue-collar, team-player, iron man to putz in the span of a couple years. These recent allegations (and my take on it is identical to yours - nothing is proven definitively, but it sure seems damning at this point) have shown me that he hadn't quite hit rock bottom in terms of tarnish quite yet.

I kept my Favre stuff up through the past couple years without any embarrassment. Like I said, I justified it in that it was the Green and Gold Brett, not this fraud who had taken his place. For the first time, it's a little embarrassing to walk around and see this stuff. It's not like he killed someone or molested a child, but it's still pretty embarrassing.

It will be interesting to see how I (and other Packers fans) feel 5 years after he retires and goes into the Hall. I'm assuming at this point that he will go in as a Packer. But at this point, do I care? Or is it just embarrassing? I'm guessing that 5 years time will probably soften that sentiment a bit. We will see.

I don't know if we'll ever know if he can top

Tiger, because I'm not convinced we'll ever get a final total of Tigerskanks! lol (btw, I'm 1000% more of a Favre fan than I ever have been of Tiger. Even before we even knew anything about Tiger's shennanigans, I didn't care for the guy....poster child of bad sportsmanship IMHO).

Anyway, back to Favre. I understand Goodell/NFL is investigating. I get this feeling there's reason to believe Favre really has screwed it up. I'm not seeing this end on a good note.

And just like with Tiger, the only person(s) I'm going to feel sorry for are the families.

    Go Rogers! (Brett who?) :-)

Well, now we know what Brett REALLY meant...

when he sang "pants on the ground, pants on the ground, looking like a fool with my pants on the ground!" :o)

You may have already known this, but there

was this bit on TV just now about Favre's little mess, and they were showing an interview from 2007 with his wife where she was talking about his problems of infidelity. Damn, he's had problems all these years? I had no idea. I'm betting if these allegations are true (and I'm getting real close to saying "guilty as charge") she's outta there. Or maybe I should say, he's out there as in butt kicked to the curb.

Man 'o man, can you imagine the money she's gonna get?

Does he have children, or are are kids they had grown? Either way it's going to hurt 'em, but I hope they're not little ones.

In her book years back. . .

Deanna discussed when Brett hit his low. The Vicodin, partying, carousing with women, etc. She says she had her bags packed and was going to leave with their daughter. A Packer coach warned her that if she left, Brett would kill himself. She agreed to stay, just so long as Brett changed his ways. That's when he stopped partying and entered rehab.

Apparently the giving up partying part stuck, but the carousing with women part slipped.

Brett's elder daughter is an adult now. His younger daughter is probably right around 18. His grandchild is somewhere between one and two years old, I believe. Yes, Brett and I are the same age and my first child (5 months) is younger than his grandkid! :o)

Yup, we had a little girl.

Katelyn Marie Payette is almost 5 months now. And yeah, game changer for sure! And she's ready for the Packer's to start playing up to potential!

Very cool. Darling little thing, and I notice

she almost already has more hair than you have! lol Seriously, congrats to you guys. And about damn time! (oh wait..... I'm talking to the guy that thought you're supposed to date for 20 years before you actually get married....) :)

The Halloween costume's a little scary, but I can fix that. Something in Longhorn burnt orange should fix her up. :-) (you didn't think I was going to say blue and silver did you?..... I walked away from the 'boys when the goober from Arkansas came on the scene)
