    A/C Compressor

    Hi all,

I can hear noisy sound from under the hood whenever the A/C compressor starts. I think it's coming from the thing that looks like shock-absorber (a/c belt tensioner?); anything else I should check? The compressor assy itself was recently replaced (July 2010). Thanks for your comments.

Probably is. Remove the belt and spin the >>

    tensioner pulley, and listen.

Bearing can be repacked, if not damaged. Carefully prise out the seals, wash them thoroughly in solvent, dry, and repack sparingly with hi-temp wheel bearing grease. Replace seals.

Should do the other pulley, too.
