Also I need exact details on the embed. I see the two YouTube embeds so I don't know what you mean by not working exactly. Are you saying you did the exact same thing in both places? I have played w/ embedding YT vids and haven't run into any problems. Can you try and edit the 2nd broken embed?

I've seen emails go out from the system but they don't have usernames listed so I don't know who is who by watching the email log.

I deleted and re pasted (went back to the source) & still it just shows the html, not the embed in the Texas regional forum HTML is off for what that is worth.

Can you describe the path you're following to get there?

There are a few different ways to see the info.

Try clicking the settings button on the top right of the page and navigate to your profile and personal information from there.

I just did a test on both of your threads and they both worked. I embedded the link using the "add video" button.

What did you do? If you grabbed the embed code as opposed to the URL did you do it the same way for both posts? HTML is an issue in vBulletin so that may be the problem.

I did exactly what I always do: go to youtube and get the embedded code, pasted it & posted. It went off without a hitch in the new political lounge, but from my viewpoint it simply showed the code in the Texas regional forum

OKay, that tells me it's an HTML issue. There's an icon which you can click on right above the message post field. The icon looks like a film strip. If you click on that you can simply paste in the YT URL (or a dozen other video sites) and vBulletin will fix the code so that it displays properly.

It's actually a lot easier for most people to just paste the link. I will look into the HTML issue though.

I went back and looked and HTML is on in the political lounge & off in the regional (TX) forum.

thanks for letting me know. We have to look at the security ramifications of HTML. If we can't limit the html avail. w/in posts then we probably can't allow html at all.

Interesting that the ad video shows up when you reply, but not in the original "new" post.

I tried a non YT site, and while it would post the link it wouldn't post the video. (pornhub)

So we need to enable certain types of HTML and vB doesn't allow for that. I think maybe we can allow html code for IC members only. That would help solve the problem. I'm going to look into this.
