    Small screwdriver blade or

thin knife blade to pry apart the clamps. Reinstalled with regular BMW hose clamps (non-crimp type).

    Can't help you there

I did a complete heater hose overhaul during a strip down for a supercharger. So, I had a lot more room to work with.

If you know you're going to replace the hose, you might try a pair of diagonal cutters to cut the band.

On the 1.9 it is easier when the intake manifold

    is removed.
